What happened to ReceiptNest?
It's now called Nestfold. Same app, same receipts and budget, same subscription: only the name and the colours changed.
Apple Pay purchases aren't being logged
If you haven't set up the automation yet, follow these steps. Already set up? Open Nestfold, tap the gear on Home, choose Log Apple Pay Automatically, and pay with Apple Pay once. That screen shows whether your last purchase came through, and if not, the one thing to change in the Shortcuts automation.
A receipt scanned with the wrong total or tax
A receipt Nestfold reads clearly saves itself, with Undo on the banner that follows. Tap the banner, or the receipt in Activity, and choose Edit to correct it. If Nestfold isn't sure of the total or the store, it asks you with one tap before saving. To check every scan yourself, turn on Settings → Scanning → Review Every Scan. If a particular store scans badly, tell us which one — that helps us fix it for everyone.
The category is wrong
Expenses Nestfold couldn't file show up under Quick checks on Home, one tap each. For any other expense, open it and change the category. Nestfold remembers your choice for that store and files future purchases there.
How do I start a budget?
Open the Budget tab. Nestfold offers a plan built from your usual spending: tap Use This as My Plan, or adjust the amounts first. Every expense lands in its envelope as it happens.
Where do return-by dates come from?
From the store's usual return policy, or the usual window for that kind of purchase. They're a guide, not a promise: your receipt decides. If a store's window is different, open the receipt and tap Not right? to set it once. Turn on Settings → Vault → Remind Me Before Returns Close for a reminder the day before a window closes.
Are my receipts backed up?
If iCloud is enabled on your device, receipts sync to your own private iCloud database and restore when you set up a new phone. You can also export everything as CSV or PDF at any time.
Can I use it without the internet?
Yes. Receipts are read on your device. The optional AI cleanup needs a connection, but scanning, editing, searching, and exporting all work offline.
How do I lock the app?
Tap the gear on Home, then Privacy & Security → Require Face ID (or Touch ID, or your passcode).
