Set up one automation in the Shortcuts app, and every tap to pay lands in
Nestfold, already categorized. It takes about a minute, and you only do it once.
Open this page on your iPhone, with Nestfold installed. Apple doesn't let any app
create the automation for you, so these are the taps it takes. Nothing to type.
Tap Automation, then +.Automation is the middle tab at the bottom of Shortcuts.
Tap Wallet.On iOS 17 and 18 it's called Transaction.
Choose your cards, then Run Immediately, then Next.Pick the cards you pay with, or all of them. Run Immediately logs each purchase without asking first.
Tap New Blank Automation.
Search for Log Purchase and tap it.Choose the one from Nestfold.
Tap Shortcut Input beside Log, then Amount. On its own, Shortcut Input carries only the merchant's name, so pick the amount out of it.
Tap the arrow beside it, then set Merchant and Card.Tap Merchant, then Shortcut Input, then Merchant. Tap Card, then Shortcut Input, then Card or Pass.
Tap ✓ to finish.That's it.
When you're done, it looks like this
When I tap any of my Wallet cards
Receive transaction as input
Log Amount
Merchant Merchant
Card Card or Pass
Check it works
Pay with Apple Pay once. Then open Nestfold, tap the gear on Home, and choose Log Apple Pay Automatically.
It says "It's working" with the purchase it logged, or names the one thing to change.
Good to know
It runs when you tap to pay with Apple Pay in a store. Purchases on a physical card don't
trigger it, so scan or add those as usual.
Nestfold only receives each purchase's merchant, amount and card name. They stay on your
iPhone and in your own iCloud. Turn the automation off any time in Shortcuts.
Want the items and tax? Scan the paper receipt later: it attaches to the same purchase
instead of counting it twice.
The free plan logs 20 purchases a month automatically. Past that, purchases wait on Home
and the Budget tab to add with one tap. Nestfold Pro logs them all.
